So tonight was my very last band MPA and i was completely ready to go out and kick some butt. the band was ready, we had everything down and when the time came to preform everyone was on their best game. we marched onto the field and and everyone was focused. the first song was amazing. normally i don’t smile when i conduct, i’m not sure why i just don’t, but tonight i couldn’t help it. everyone was doing so well that a smile just came out of me. i was cheesing for the whole show. we may have had one or two small mistakes here and there, and one tuba would not stop blatting the whole show, but other than that i felt we did wonderfully. turns out that the judges did not feel the same way. we got an excellent. well here’s the thing, although i am crushed at the fact that officially i only got an excellent my senior year, part of me doesn’t give a shit what they say. i know that my band deserves a superior. we worked our butts off and i know that we are superior. so i am doing my officer promise this monday (talk in a Minnesotan accent all day) and no matter what those judges say, we got a superior. my senior year is superior and no one can tell me other wise.
So tonight was my 18th birthday party and it was amazing. i had about 50ish people come over to my house to help celebrate everyone wore a costume and even though some people i invited didn’t get a chance to come it was still a lot of fun. i went as Hermione and my boy friend went as Harry, (yes i know they do not go together but it doesnt matter, he is still my best friend and therefore the costumes worked) he wore one sock only (if you love harry potter you will understand and love my boyfriend as much as i do). it was a co-party with my friend Lani who just turned 17 and one of the boys who came shared the night with us because it was his birthday as well. Lani seemed to have a lot of fun, considering the boy she likes asked her out =D The starlight getaway came and played for us and they were a huge hit! no one knew that they were coming so it made things even better. their version of happy birthday was really awesome too and we passed out cup cakes to ever one instead of one big cake. The cops got called on our house because of a noise complaint which really made the night even better. it was so funny to have everyone freaking out over the cops and my mom just handled it like a pro. (not to insinuate anything, she just is good at taking charge and fixing things) At the very end of the night every one toasted lani, jarrod and i with a shot of frosted milk and a warm cookie.
